Policies and Procedures
In November 2020, Diocesan Council adopted two important new policies which impact on parishes. These are the Grievance Policy and Procedures for Clergy, Parish Employees and the wider parish community; and a suite of Work, Health & Safety documents, including a Policy, Forms, and a WHS Management Plan.
Grievance Policy and Procedure
The purpose of this Policy is to provide an avenue through which Office Holders, employees and volunteers, and their managers, and members of the Anglican Church in the Diocese can resolve work-related complaints as they arise, in accordance with the principles adopted in 2014 by the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia in Being Together: Expectations of behaviour in our church community.
Work, Health & Safety Policy and Forms
The Synod of the Diocese of Adelaide is responsible for compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act (SA) 2012 as well as the supporting Regulations and associated Codes of Practice. It is the aim of the Synod to provide a working environment that minimises the risk to work health and safety as far as is reasonably practicable. This will be achieved by adopting a planned and systematic approach to the management of occupational health, safety and welfare and providing the resources for its successful implementation and continuous improvement.
A suite of forms to support the implementation of the WHS Policy, and a Management Plan tailored to each individual parish, are under development and will be posted in due course.
